Hopi Prayer Bundle

Hand sewn and blessed by the Hopi Keeper of the Secrets, George Nasafotie, Jr., these sacred prayer bundles are carefully put together in a Hopi kiva (sacred place), using 3 herbs requiring 4 blessings. The Hopi use the bundles to hold blessings of every kind and to protect one against misfortune. The bundles also can be used to bring one the blessings of the kachinas, the counterpart of our angels. Each morning a bundle holder places the intention of blessing for that day, (safe travel or good outcomes or fruitful pursuits or great joy). Oftentimes the bundles are placed next to babies or around children’s necks (with a rawhide tie) to keep any harm away.

Elder Nasafotie, takes his task seriously when creating the prayer bundles. For they represent his connection not only to the Earth with the herbs he gathers but also his connection to the people as his work reflects his purpose as a protector of the people along with his protection of the Hopi Secrets. In my discussions with Elder Nasafotie, I found his dedication to the spiritual path deeply sincere, to the point where he understands better than most the role of the White People in coming into harmony with the Web of Life, so important to the Hopi People.

Sacred prayer bundles may be purchased separately. They cost $25 with all the funds going to the Hopi Elder. You can place the order by calling 847-888-2360.

These sales are not tax deductible.
